BORNEO

Borneo is the third largest island in the world and the only one divided between three separate countries: Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia. Most visitors head to the Malaysian region containing the states of Sarawak and Sabah, and the highest point in Borneo, Mount Kinabalu. Envision dense rainforest, smoky longhouses, fascinating indigenous cultures, longboat rides upriver, and of course orangutans. For scuba lovers, diving off Sipadan Island is a must; it’s constantly rated one of the top five diving spots in the world. Experience Barracuda Point, a wall of coral where you’re surrounded by a multitude of barracuda, leopard sharks, white tips, hammerheads, enormous parrotfish and hundreds of turtles.
